LIFE COACHING PROGRAM

To help Guide, Equip and empower young refugees & migrants (16 - 35) through personalise coaching and mentoring so they can WIN in life.

CASE STUDY:

Hello, I’m Mantist Oryem. I’m the creator of this program. 2009, I graduated with a diploma in community development.
I was inspired to make a different. I wanted to learn how I could make lasting impact in the lives of people in our community.
Over the years, I had conversations with over 1000s of young refugee migrants and spoken with many non-for-profit organisations
and community leaders about the challenges our young refugee migrants are facing around mental health.

THE BIG PROBLEMS
I IDENTIFY.

THE BIG 3:

Time and time again, these are the top 3 ranking BIG issue that keep repeated.

1. IDENTITY CONFUSION:

Most young refugee migrants came from such a tormented background that majority of their early life been life of survival. This has cause a deep rooted feeling of unworthiness, lack of self trust and self believe. Most of them basically running on empty…feeling powerless

2. LACK OF DIRECTION:

Most young refugee migrants never stop, take a piece of paper and map out exactly what their short-term, mid-term or long term goals are. Nobody took the time to show them how. So, they end up drifting and moving about aimlessly without any clear direction.

3. CULTURAL SHOCKS:

Although the prospect of coming into a new country is an exciting experience, most young refugee migrants feel out of place in their new country. They feel lonely, confuse and misunderstood.

WHAT'S ALL THIS MEAN?

Our Young People:

SO… THEY ACT OUT.

We See Them:

Why is this happening?

A desperate cry for help.

what
can
we
do

We can do a lot

My Response Strategy:

My life coaching program is my way to response to that cry for help.
The program is a byproduct of my own personal journey of overcoming to becoming into a powerful me.
Nothing is theory. It’s based on 100% life experience.
A personal growth journey that took me over a decade of obsessive daily pursuit.
To give you some context, here’s a quick background on myself.

LIFE COACHING PROGRAM

MEET MANTIST ORYEM:

My Story:

I came in Australia back in 2004 as a refugee migrant with nothing but a suitcase and a dream.
Sort of like a backpacker but with zero money. And nothing was going for me.
Looking back, until I was 25, my life was really a nightmare.
I had zero money. I couldn’t speak any English. I had zero marketable skill. Terrible self image. And almost next to nothing self confidence.
In a word, I was right at the bottom of all citizens. And the only way forward was up.

Rewind back.

I was born in South Sudan…a war torn country for generations.
I spent 10 years of my childhood in refugee camps…barely surviving. Would I eat today? Would I be safe today type thing. That was my daily state of mind.
Raise by a single mum with no father power.
My father died in action when I was only 2…fighting for what I’ve been fighting for basically most of my life FREEDOM. And that’s my background.
As I think back, nobody could have guess…not even myself that one day I would be a success.

How My Program Works:

This program is design and created on a solid success principles foundation.
Through personalise coaching and mentoring, we would be able to help a young refugee migrant build their life and career blueprint so they can position themselves to create success that last by creating a life that matters to each individuals.
I’ve crafted a clear roadmap to follow based on my own personal journey from rock bottom to now looking in the mirror and seeing a winner.

Almost 5 years ago. We connected on our love for music and impact.

From the moment I met Mantist, I knew he was someone I wanted to “go on the journey with.”
His positive outlook on live and his constant motivation to improve himself through learning, reading and growth is inspiring.

young people in general issues. These can be
things like mental health, preparing for
employment and getting a good education (and
seeing the importance of that) and a lack of
    direction.

The issues that [ see are that the system doesn't
cater for the individual, it simply tries to do broad
strokes to educate our youth which often is
    ineffective.

The World isn't fair and often unsupportive of
people, especially those that haven't had a strong
support network as they were growing up and
people around them to help enable and support
them in their growth and helping them set their
    direction and goals.
One of my deepest passions, and one that I am
lucky enough to be able to do as a career, is to
help people identity their passion then help align
their growth to the business outcomes needed.
My goal in life is to have a positive impact in as
many people's lives before I “finish”. To take my
experience over the last 25 years and give people
a leg up into their career or their next steps in
life, especially young women and minority groups

Ordained Christian Leader | Mentor | HR

I’m a family man, Human Resources and Human Services practitioner, a qualified and ordained Christian Leader. I have worked with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds for nearly two decades in professional and Christian faith capacities here in Australia.

I’ve interacted with Mantist at multiple occasions and a big part of our conversations is always around success, personal development and impact. If there’s someone that can reach this young refugee migrant at a person level, it will be Mantist.Being a refugee migrant himself, I believe his program is based on real life experience not theory…and that is POWERFUL.

Mantist has a very high expectation for himself and people in his inner-circle.
I believe that is what majority of those young people need…someone who will hold you accountable for your goal. From my years of experience, there are many
challenges and the followings are among the
    keys challenges facing young people:

    1. Disharmony within families: misunderstanding
between couples and between parents and
young people regarding the support needs of
each member. This leads to family breakdown,
eroding the core sate and supportive network of
    each member.

    2. Identity crisis: when young people are not
clear about who they are; building a healthy
sense of belonging becomes difficult, if not
    impossible.

    3. A lack of positive sense of belonging and drive
in life. This is a carry-on from the above.
Many young people lack motivation because they
haven't yet discovered they purpose or reasons for
    being.

How You Know Mantist & Your Thought On His
    Program:

I've interacted with Mantist at multiple occasions and
a big part of our conversation is around success,
personal development and impact. For years, Mantist
has been consistent in creating empowering contents
and sharing them with his online followers. And I've
engage with many of them...which is life changing.

If there's someone that can reach this young refugee
migrant at a personal level, it will be Mantist. Being a
refugee migrant himself, | believe his program is base
on real life experience not theory..And this is
    powerful.

With Mantist personal experiences of navigating his
own way those some of these issues, his drive to make
a difference and his commitment to helping others,

mainly young people to succeed, | believe this is going
    to make real IMPACT.

Mantist has a very high expectation for himself and
    people in his inner-circle.
[ believe that is what majority of those young
people need...someone who will hold you
accountable for your goals. Mantist will challenge
your thinking to the extent that your entire being
    will be developed for success.

Mantist Program is very personal to me. Like Mantist, my journey also started as a migrant. I was born in the twilight of the Soviet Union. I survived multiple moves and hardships. This is a very necessary program.

When I met Mantist for the first time at a BBQ I have realised straight away that this guy really passionate and cares about people as he kept talking all the time about how he would like to impact as many people as possible by helping them escape the misery cycle.
After few years of knowing him I still can see…

Young refugees and immigrant people have a hard
time when they come to a new country. They face
    many, many challenges.

Health and mental health: The things that
refugees went through before they came to
Australia affect their health and mental health a
lot. Refugees have run away from bad things and
many have been tortured, hurt or seen horrible
things. They have more health problems than
other people. They may also find it hard to get the
right health services because of language, culture
    and money problems.

Education and employment: One out of four
young people in Australia are from a refugee or
migrant background. These young people are
smart, keen and want to do well in Australia, but
they may face problems in getting education and
jobs because of discrimination, racism, low English
skills, not having their qualifications or skills
recognized, and not having enough contacts.

Social isolation and integration: Refugee families
have gone through a lot of challenges before and
after they came to Australia. These challenges may
be because of the bad things that happened to
them before or during their journey here. They
may also struggle to fit in with a new culture,
language and place, and to keep their identity and
    sense of belonging.

They may find it hard to get help from formal and
informal supports like community services, social
groups, friends and neighbors because of stigma,
mistrust, fear or not knowing about them.

How You Know Mantist & Your Thought On His
    Program:

When I met Mantist for the first time at a BBQ I

    lifetime mission.

Having such programs designed to empower young
migrants and refugees to develop their confidence,
resilience, skills, and networks, and to achieve their
goals and dreams...is a unique and wonderful thing.
And | believe his program will have a life-changing
experience for young migrants and refugees.

Mantist STRONGLY believes that every young
migrant and refugee has the potential to become a

leader and a positive change-maker in their
    community and society
